Here is the progress of one of our in-class assignments. I’m pretty much done with the grayscale. Up next are some color comps (and then onto final color!)
She’s a warrior lady. I wanted a tough looking lady, covered in armor. I’ve never really drawn armor in detail so this was a challenge. But I also wanted her to look fierce, and very fab. And in bloody snow!
Here’s my ‘Paper Doll’ character for CG 201. She was originally from a figure drawing sketch (where the woman was holding a stick) and our assignment is to make a character out of it. We needed to make a grayscale painting of their body before we start putting on different costume ideas (that’s why she’s a paper doll!)
I’m thinking of making her into a warrior, holding down a large sword. I want to make her armor sleek, but functional. I want to stay away from sexualizing it.
